MLA RIDE - MAY 1, 2008

Looking for an excuse to take a day off work and go for a ride?  You should join us on Thursday, May 1st for the 19th Annual MLA Ride!  This is BCCOM’s Annual Ride to the Legislature in Victoria to take the MLA’s and their staff for a ride on their lunch hour. It is a chance for motorcyclists to speak directly with your individual Member of the Legislative Assembly on motorcycling and safety issues that affect you and your family and let them experience firsthand the thrill of motorcycling. It is also the big kickoff to promote May as Motorcycle Awareness Month!

VANCOUVER: Riders assemble at Tsawwassen ferry terminal for the 9:00am sailing

VICTORIA: Riders meet up at Mayfair Mall (Blanshard St in Victoria) at 11:00am with the riders from the mainland and proceed on to the Legislature

For more information please call: (604) 580-0111 or 1-877-580-0111

NOTE TO RIDERS PARTICIPATING IN THE MLA RIDE
BC Ferries has eliminated the motorcycle group rate as of April 1, 2008. While this is regrettable, they have agreed to apply a special discounted rate
for all motorcycles on the 9:00 AM sailing from Tsawwassen and on the 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM sailings from Swartz Bay on May 1st only. Unfortunately, this will be the last year that they will be able to offer us a discounted rate.

BC Ferries have asked us to use Toll Booth #6 (extreme left) at Tsawwassen on the day of the MLA Ride and to please arrive by 8:30AM

To create a group rate price for May 1st the following relationships apply.
The Motorcycle Price is $21.50
Group Rate for motorcycles would be 75% therefore: $16.20 (Rounded up to nearest nickel)
If a customer has a sidecar or a trailer as part of the ride charge them the Motorcycle group rate price.

The policy of "assured loading" has not been changed and this means we don't need to pay extra for "Reserved Space" during busy periods.
On the Mainland - Vancouver Island routes, the new motorcycle rate is the same for solo bikes or bikes with sidecars and/or trailers.
